Learn the Incredible Power of Anchoring

Some sounds, pictures, smells, tastes or tactile sensations create special feelings in us. These sensations are called anchors in the field of Neuro Linguistic Programming [NLP]. A particular sensation which is connected to a person's particular behavior, feeling, or thought is an anchor. The procedure in which an anchor is created is called anchoring.

Anchoring works on the subconscious level of mind. There for, it is extremely powerful. You get anchored to various stimuli in the surrounding world. If a stimulus is anchored with a negative behavior, it is a disadvantage. When you understand how anchoring works, you can break anchors which are of disadvantage and create more useful anchors as you wish.

If certain stimulus repeatedly occurs when you are in deep, relaxed, sensitive trance, a connection is made between the stimulus and the trance.

Every body lives in different trances moment by moment is exposed to various stimuli through out the day. An anchor is created if a trance is intense, deep, or powerful and also if the associated stimulus occurs repeatedly when the trance is at its peak.

When this happens over and over, the stimuli-trance connection grows stronger and stronger. When such a strong connection is established, the stimulus can be purposely used to trigger the trance. In other words, an anchor is created.

You can create an anchor to any trance of your choice. You can test whether your anchor works too. You have to follow below steps to make an anchor successfully.

• If your desired trance is power, close your eyes, relax, sit erect, and relive in a very powerful moment of your life, seeing what was there then in your mind's eye, hearing the sounds, feeling other sensations. Your mind and body must be totally absorbed in the desired trance.
• Produce the stimulus when the trance is at its peak. You can feel it when the trance comes to the peak. Make the stimulus a special one. Make it an uncommon one such as pushing your right left finger back words with your right hand, pressing your left wrist with your right hand etc.
• You have to repeat the stimulus in the same manner.

Do this several times a day, for a few days continuously. When the anchor is established, you can trigger the trance by just producing the stimulus. Keep repeating those steps until you become able to do that.

You can not only make useful anchors but also collapses that are not. Let's see how you could do that.

• Close your eyes. In your mind, go to a moment of your life when you felt really powerful. See, hear, feel what there was, in your mind. When the feeling of power comes to its peak, pretend to take that feeling to your right hand. Imagine it clasped in your right hand, a bright and warm ball of energy.
• Now relive in a miserable, awful, helpless moment of your life in the same manner. When the unpleasant feeling comes to its peak, pretend take it to your left hand. Imagine it clasped in your left hand, a dark and cold ball of energy.
• Now you are ready to collapse the bad anchor. Clap your hands together and imagine the warm, bright energy in your right hand overcoming the cold, dark energy in your left.
• Repeat this a few times and recall that unpleasant moment of your life. If the collapsing has worked, it will just be a mare memory and not so uncomfortable. If it is still intense, simply repeat the collapsing steps until unpleasant incident becomes a mare memory with out any power to make you feel bad.

There you go! You know how to make use of anchoring now. Incorporate it your overall self-improvement scheme. Go ahead and make a positive change in your life.
